In developing the school, Rosario Institute has mission, vision, and objectives as below:

Mission

This institution is committed to develop learners with intellectual social, and spiritual competencies in pursuit of academic excellence through appropriate learning instruction and responsive co-curricular programs to foster a positive relationship with students, teachers, parents, and community members.

Vision

Rosario Institute, a non-sectarian educational institution, is envisioned to be the leader in catering education with Quality, Excellence, and Difference.

Objectives

By offering a comprehensive curriculum which is attuned to the needs of the times, students are given opportunities to explore the field of endeavor in which they are most capable of reaping success. The aim of this institution is to produce a man of his time: responsive to the accelerated pace of the economic, social and political changes; involved with the knowledge to meet life’s challenges; and aware of the country’s directional thrusts and efforts.

Academic Support System

Rosario Institute has annual events that aim to develop teachers’ competencies. They often have meetings which discuss about the learning in every subject or the current issues. Not only for the teachers, after the quarter exam for example the principal will do classroom observation to all subjects. It aims to know the performance of the teachers and situation in the classroom. The principal will take notes to something that need to be improved. Then the teachers and principal will do reflection from the observation. From the outside of the school’s events, teachers are asked to follow seminar that related to education. That programs will help the teacher in developing their competencies (pedagogical, professional, social, and personal). They also have annual excursion for the teachers. Last excursion was traveling to Cebu. So, instead of general system like others school, Rosario Institute provides programs to support the teachers’ competencies.

From students’ aspect, Rosario Institute also provides with programs that help them in developing their abilities and knowledge. Visiting historical places or museums, having prom night, providing sport club, celebrating special day such as Christmas, etc., and many more are programs that involved students and teachers. It makes the relationship between student and teachers closer than meeting in the classroom. They also can experience how to socialize with other students from different grade.

Teaching System

Teachers in Rosario Institute teach the students directly in the classroom. Every teacher has 7-8 sections in a day with same schedule every 5 school days. Every teacher is mastered and taught different subject with others, but not often they will handle more than one subject. It depends on subject that they mastered.

Materials and Other Learning Sources

Every teacher that has same subject and grade will have same text book as their standard in teaching. They will take the topic from that text book. Sometimes they will take additional information from other sources such as on website, journal, YouTube, or books in library. The teachers often use PowerPoint in explaining the topic. Several subjects also use real life things or phenomenon around them as the topic.

Measurement and Evaluation System

Students is called successful if they can pass quiz and performance task. These activities are two of measurement in Rosario Institute instead of quarter exams. Usually, the students will have their quiz on Friday which is their last day in a week. The quiz is about the topic that they learn. The quiz can be in written or oral. Both of them will have own rubric. Meanwhile the performance task will be given as their final project of that topic. They will have the performance task after the quiz. The task can be in written or performance, it depends on the topic that they learn. Every performance task will consume a week or more to be finished. Then every quarter of semester, they will have exam that need to be passed. All of the task or exam will have own rubric for the assessment. It will be a guidance for the teacher in giving score to all of tasks and exams.

General Curriculum

Rosario Institute applies K to 12 as their curriculum. This curriculum has focused on students’ center. All activities are given to make the students explore the knowledge by themselves.

Teaching plan

Every week the teacher will make a lesson plan for grade that they teach. If a teacher teaches three grades (9 grade and 10 grade) she will make three lesson plans. She will take the topic from the text book. Teacher will also provide PowerPoint or manual media to support her teaching especially in explaining the topic. After that, the lesson plan will be submitted to the principal. She will check those lesson plans and give her signature. Because they have 5 school days, on Monday teacher will start the lesson with brainstorming or motivation. It aims to prepare the students’ psychology before entering to the topic. On the next day until two days later, teacher will explain the topic. Then on Friday, teacher will give quiz and project to the students. Those are the sequence of teaching plan in Rosario Institute.
